We are a group of civil society activists and researchers who are concerned about public transportation in Hyderabad. We want a mass rapid transit system that includes the buses, trains (MMTS/Metro), sidewalks and cycle paths. But the proposed elevated metro will not meet these objectives.
There is no need for the rail transport in corridor 2. Already RTC is providing huge bus transport in this area. For instance, every 30 sec there is bus from koti to Sec'bad and over 10,000 commuters are happily commuting in RTC every day without any problem. This is truly a real estate project by L&T trying to grap the Hyd land on the name of Metro. Its land robbery by L&T
Better to scrap this corridor-2 as the MMTS local train runs from Secunderabad to Falaknuma which can be strengthened easily with very low cost when compared to Metro Rail.
